SOUR CREAM CUT-OUT CHRISTMAS
COOKIES
 
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. sour cream
2 tsp. vanilla
5 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Cream together softened butter and sugar, add eggs and vanilla.

Sift together dry ingredients and add to mixture alternately with sour cream. Chill thoroughly in refrigerator, preferably overnight.

Roll dough out to 1/4 inch thick, adding more flour to work easily. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 400 degrees F for 6-7 minutes, just until bottom is lightly brown and the top is still white. DO NOT OVERBAKE!

I substitute almond extract for the vanilla. Very rarely do we ever add icing. Yum
