DIET CHICKEN 
3 lbs. frying chicken, cut up
Powdered ginger, pepper, and paprika
1/3 c. soy sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can beef consomme
1 1/2 cans water
1/3 c. water
2 med. onions
Sugar substitute to taste

Remove skin from chicken; sprinkle both sides with ginger, pepper, and paprika. In skillet, cut up onions. Add 1 1/2 cups water and 1 cup consomme. Bring to boil; lower heat. Add chicken, right side down. Cover. Combine soy sauce and 1/3 cup water with sugar substitute. Pour over chicken and cook 1 hour over low heat. Turn and cook 15 minutes more. Add water if necessary.
