ENGLISH TOFFEE 
1 c. sugar
1 c. butter
3 tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
12 oz. chocolate chips

Combine sugar, butter and water in saucepan. Cook to 300 degrees stirring constantly (use candy thermometer). Remove from heat and add vanilla. Pour into buttered 9x9 pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top and let melt. Spread chocolate and score candy while hot. Yields 36 pieces.
