SCALLOPED OYSTERS 
1 qt. fresh oysters
1 stick butter
Salt & pepper to taste
1 pt. cream
2 1/2 c. crushed oyster crackers

Cook oysters in their own liquid over slow heat until edges curl. Remove from heat, but keep warm. Into a large buttered baking dish, place a layer of cracker crumbs, bits of butter and a layer of oysters. Repeat, adding cream. Finish with remaining oysters and their liquid over which the balance of cream is poured. Cover with crackers. Bake for 20 minutes at 375 degrees.
