JONNY-JOHNNY CAKES 
1 1/4 c. enriched white cornmeal
1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 egg, beaten
1 c. milk

Sift together dry ingredients - cornmeal, flour, sugar, salt and baking powder - into a bowl. Add egg and milk; mix well. Pour about 1 tablespoon batter for each cake onto hot, lightly greased griddle. Bake to a golden brown, turning only once. Serve with butter, syrup. Makes 1 1/2 dozen.
