PULLED MINTS 
2 c. sugar, pure cane
1 c. tap water
3/4 stick butter
5 drops food coloring
12 drops oil of peppermint
Candy thermometer

Mix sugar, water and butter in 2-quart deep pot. Place bulb of thermometer 1/2 depth is liquid in pot. Let boil on high, do not stir until temperature reaches HARD BOIL.

Remove from stove, pour on cold buttered marble. Drop coloring and oil of peppermint on candy. When cool enough to handle remove from marble and two people pull (as taffy) to right texture. Place on buttered table top; pull to rope size, cut into pillows in size to your liking.
