ALMOND TORTE 
1 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
1 c. butter (may use 1/2 butter & 1/2 butter)
2 eggs, slightly beaten with fork
2 tsp. almond extract
Almond flakes (sprinkle on top)

Mix flour and sugar and cut in butter (as for pie crust). Add eggs and almond extract. Spread in a round cake pan and bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes. Cut into wedges and serve with a touch of whipped cream. This may also be baked in a square or rectangular pan and cut into bars and served as a finger dessert.
