PUMPKIN TORTE 
CRUST:

1 1/2 c. graham cracker crumbs
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter, melted
1/4 c. walnuts (opt.)

Mix all together, put in 9"x13" pan.

CHEESE LAYER:

2 eggs, beaten
8 oz. cream cheese
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk

Mix and pour over crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Let cool.

PUMPKIN LAYER:

2 c. pumpkin
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
3 egg yolks (save whites)

Cook over medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes.

Soak 1 envelope Knox gelatin in 1/2 cup warm water. Add to pumpkin mixture. Let cool.

Beat egg whites and 1/2 cup sugar until stiff, fold into pumpkin mixture.

Spread over cheese layer and refrigerate. When serving, add Cool Whip and sprinkle with walnuts.
