DEEP BUTTER CAKE 
3 c. flour
2 c. sugar
4 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
2 sticks butter
1 c. milk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond extract

Sift flour and salt into bowl. Add sugar and butter. Mix together until it forms crumbs. Reserve 1/2 cup for topping. To the remainder, add baking powder, milk, eggs and flavorings. Beat 10 minutes (no less) by the clock in mixer. While this is beating, grease 10x14 inch pan (it must be this big) and line with waxed paper. Pour in the batter and top with the crumbs. Pat lightly. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes.
