3 egg yolks
1 2/3 c. thick buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. soft butter
3 egg whites, stiffly beaten

Beat egg yolks well with rotary beater. Beat in buttermilk and baking soda. Sift together and beat in the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Beat in soft butter. Gently fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake on hot griddle.
