GRANDMA "OMI'S" BAKED BEANS | |
1 (12 oz.) can pork & beans 8 strips bacon 1 med. onion, cut in 6 slices 1/3 c. catsup 1/4 tsp. dry mustard 1/3 c. light brown sugar Gently stir pork and beans, catsup, dry mustard and brown sugar. Let stand a few minutes. Put 1/2 bean mixture in bean pot or baking dish. Add layer of onion rings and pieces of bacon. Put in rest of beans and top with remaining onion rings and bacon. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Reduce heat to 300 degrees for 2 hours or 250 degrees for longer cooking. Long and slow baking is the secret. |
