CRANBERRY SALAD 
1/2 lb. cranberries
1/8 tsp. baking soda
2 c. water
1/8 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
1 (3 oz.) box strawberry Jello
1 heaping c. diced marshmallows
1 c. diced apples
1 c. diced celery
1 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cook cranberries, water and salt together on stove. When mixture starts to boil, add soda. Cook 10 minutes. Add sugar and Jello. Stir until dissolved. Add marshmallows; stir well. Take from stove; cool; add apples, celery and nuts.

Place mixture in individual molds and put in refrigerator to chill until set. When chilled, remove salad from mold onto salad plate prepared with a lettuce leaf. Garnish salad with a fresh strawberry and peppermint leaves, if desired.
