CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. Crisco
5 eggs
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 c. sugar
3 c. plain flour
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. milk or buttermilk

Sift together flour, baking powder and cocoa. Cream butter and Crisco until light, adding sugar gradually. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk and vanilla to creamed mixture. Add eggs, one at a time. Stir in nuts.

Pour into greased cake pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Do not open oven door before one hour is up.
