BARBECUE SAUCE 
This sauce is especially good brushed on meats while cooking. Or use it to marinate meats for several hours before barbecuing.

4 cups vegetable oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 large onion, chopped
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. cloves (the spice - optional)
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. dry English mustard
1 tsp. paprika
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 1/2 tablespoons vinegar
2 1/2 cups water
3 to 4 drops hot pepper sauce or Tabasco

Sauté garlic and onion in oil for 3 or 4 minutes, then blend in dry ingredients. Follow with liquids. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes or until desired consistency. If you used clove (spice), you can remove or blend them in with a hand blender.

Makes 2 cups.
