SPICED ORANGES AND PEARS 
3 Florida oranges
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 c. water
2/3 c. cider vinegar
10 whole cloves
2 cinnamon sticks
1 tbsp. ginger
1 lg. pear, cooked and sliced

Place whole, unpeeled oranges in medium saucepan. Cover with water. Bring to a boil. Boil 20 minutes or until skins are easily pierced with a fork. Cut into 8 wedges.

In same saucepan, combine sugar, water, vinegar, cloves, cinnamon and ginger. Stir until sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil. Add orange wedges. Reduce heat. Simmer 15 minutes. Add pears. Cook 5 to 8 minutes or until tender. Cool, cover and chill. 1 quart.
