ERNESTINE'S SUGAR COOKIES 
Cream together:

1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar

Blend in 2 eggs. Add:

1 tsp. vanilla or lemon flavoring
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
2 c. plain flour

Bake on lightly greased cookie sheets at 400 degrees 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown. Chill dough at least 2 hours. Use small amount of dough at a time. Keeping the rest refrigerated. Roll dough 1/8 inch thick. (I prefer the lemon flavoring.)
