FINOCHIO COOKIES 
1/4 c. butter
2/3 c. sugar
3 lg. eggs
1 tbsp. fennel seed
1 tsp. lemon flavor
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder

Cream butter and sugar. Add vanilla and lemon flavor. Add one egg and beat one minute. Add second egg and beat one minute. Add third egg and beat one minute. Add flour, baking powder and seed and beat on low two minutes.

Place dough in pastry bag and make stars. Or roll into ball the size of walnut. Bake at 375 for 15 minutes. Use large cookie sheet lightly sprayed with Pam. Makes 3 dozen cookies.

FROSTING:

1/4 c. water, boiled

Add:

1 tsp. lemon flavor
3 c. powdered sugar

Dip top of cooled cookie into frosting and then in chopped nuts.
