HOT MILK CAKE 
4 eggs
2 c. granulated sugar
2 c. flour
2 tsp. butter
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
Pinch of salt
1 c. hot milk

HOT MILK CAKE ICING:

1 1/2 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
(3 to 4 tsp. cocoa, if desired)

Beat eggs until light, add sugar gradually. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add to eggs and beat well. Heat milk - do not boil - melt butter in it. Add milk and vanilla gradually to cake mixture. Pour into three 9 inch cake pans that have been greased and floured. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool on wire racks and frost with icing or whipped cream.

ICING: Cook flour and water over low heat until thick, cool. Beat together rest of ingredients and add to cooled mixture. Beat to icing consistency. Serves: 15 to 18.
