GERMAN APPLE CAKE | |
2 1/2 c. flour 1/2 c. brown sugar 1 c. granulated sugar 2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. baking powder 2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. Crisco 1 c. buttermilk or sour cream 2 c. raw apples, sliced thin, full and press down 2 eggs, well beaten TOPPING: 1/2 c. brown sugar 1/4 c. granulated sugar 1/2 c. English walnuts Mix everything together except eggs and apples with a spoon. Then add 2 well-beaten eggs and beat 2 minutes with electric mixer. Add apples, put in 9 x 13 1/2 inch loaf pan. Put on topping. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes. |
