GERMAN RAW APPLE CAKE 
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. raw diced apples
2 1/4 c. cake flour
2 level tsp. cinnamon
1 c. sour milk or buttermilk

Sift flour, salt and cinnamon. Cream shortening, eggs and sugar. Add baking soda to sour milk and alternate flour and milk to rest of batter. Last add apples and put in pan (13 x 9 x 2). Sprinkle on top of batter 1/4 cup cinnamon. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 to 40 minutes or until tester comes out clean.
