1 c. Quick oats
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1/4 lb. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 beaten eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
Raisins, if desired

Mix and let stand 20 minutes the quick oats and boiling water. Cream together butter, brown sugar and white sugar. Add remaining ingredients. Mix thoroughly. Bake at 350 degrees until center tests done, approximately 35-45 minutes.
