MONDELBRODT (COOKIE) 
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. oil
3/4 c. sugar
3 eggs, room temperature
1 c. chopped walnuts
Sm. jar maraschino cherries or 1 (8 oz.) pkg. chocolate bits
1 tbsp. cinnamon

Mix sugar and oil together. Add flour and baking powder until well blended. Add eggs one at a time; mix well until a lemon color. Dough will be very sticky. Add cherries and nuts.

Place on greased cookie sheet. Makes 2 loaves about 3 inches wide ad 3/4 inch high. Brush top with oil and sugar and cinnamon mixed together. Cut diagonally into slices 1 inch wide. Yield 24-30 slices.
