“BUTTERSCOTCH CONFECTION” IS IN:

BUTTERSCOTCH CONFECTION 
A Chewy Bar.

CRUST:

3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Cream butter until soft and fluffy. Add flour and mix thoroughly. Spread into 13-9-inch pan.

Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes.

TOPPING:

4 eggs
1/4 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 cups packed brown sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cups shredded coconut flakes
1 cup chopped nuts

Beat eggs and flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, vanilla, coconut flakes and chopped nuts. Mix and pour over baked crust.

Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes. Cool thoroughly before cutting into squares.

Note: This recipe can be divided in half and baked in an 8x8x2-inch pan.

Makes 35 (2-inch) squares (or 16 for half recipe).
