SPANISH RICE | |
1/2 lb. bacon, crumbled 1/2 lb. hamburger 1 med. onion, chopped 2 c. water 1 c. uncooked reg. rice 2/3 c. green pepper, chopped 1 can (16 oz.) stewed tomatoes 1 tsp. chili powder 1/2 tsp. oregano 1 1/4 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper Fry bacon, drain on paper towels. Cook and stir hamburger and onion until light brown; drain. Stir in bacon and remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling, reduce heat. Cover and simmer until rice is tender, about 30 minutes. 6 servings. |
