ITALIAN CREAM CAKE | |
1 stick butter 2 c. sugar 2 c. cake flour 2 tsp. vanilla 1 c. nuts 1/2 c. Crisco 5 egg yolks 1 tsp. baking soda 1 c. buttermilk 1 can coconut 1/2 tsp. salt ICING: 8 oz. cream cheese 3/4 stick butter 1 1/4 box powdered sugar 2 tsp. vanilla Cream butter, Crisco, and sugar until fluffy. Add egg yolks one at a time. Next, add sifted dry ingredients, alternately with buttermilk. Beat egg whites separately and fold into batter. Then add coconut and nuts and vanilla. Pour into 3 greased and floured cake pans and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. |
