CARAMEL CHEX
1 c. butter
2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. light corn syrup
Dash of salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
17.5 oz. box Corn Chex

Boil butter, sugar, syrup and salt 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. Mixture will foam. Stir in well. Pour 17.5 oz. box of Corn Chex into brown grocery bag. Pour caramel mixture into bag. Shake to mix. Microwave on high for 4 minutes, shaking bag at one minute intervals. Spread on wax paper and cool.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.

Caramel Chex

I made this as directed, only using a 14 oz box of chex. It turned out excellent. One tip... After emptying the bag of cereal, cut the end off and cut it open lengthwise. You can put this on a cookie sheet and spread the mix on it to cool. Worked fabulous and a way to save on the waxed paper.

I didn't use the paper bag just put the whole bowl in the microwave and it turned out great. Just saved a step. I'm calling it crack because you can't stop eating it. All my friends love it.
