1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. quick oatmeal
1/2 c. butter

Pour quick oatmeal over boiling water. Add butter to above so it melts. Let stand until cold. 1 c. brown sugar 2 eggs, well beaten 1 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda
