POT ROAST AND GRAVY | |
This is my grandmother's recipe, and everyone LOVES it. pot roast 1 env. dry onion soup mix (Lipton) corn starch (for making gravy) Rinse roast off with water, leaving the excess water on it as you place it into the Crock-Pot/slow cooker. There is no need to add broth or water into the pot, the roast will make its own (but if you prefer, you can add a small amount of beef broth). Add one envelope of onion soup mix into the pot with the roast. Cook on LOW for desired time, personally, I leave it on overnight. When time comes to remove the roast, simply take the roast out of pot and put into a serving pan/plate. With what juices are left in the pot, take some out and put in a pan that can go on a burner, heat to medium-high while it is on the burner, add little amounts of corn starch until the gravy is thickened, and remember to keep stirring so it doesn't burn or stick.
