ICE CREAM 
2 tbsp. unflavored gelatin
3 c. milk
2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
6 eggs
1 1/2 qts. light cream
1 (3 3/4 oz.) pkg. vanilla instant pudding mix
5 tsp. flavoring

Soften gelatin in 1/2 cup cold milk. Scald 1 1/2 cups milk and stir in gelatin mixture until dissolved. Add sugar and salt, stirring until dissolved. Add remaining 1 cup milk (or substitute 1 cup crushed strawberries). Beat eggs at high speed of mixer for 5 minutes. Add instant pudding mix and flavoring, then gelatin mixture. Pour into 1 gallon ice cream freezer container and add light cream.

Freeze following usual procedure for your freezer. Remove dasher, pack down ice cream. Replace lid and pack in ice. Let stand 2 hours. This keeps well in freezer.
