CHEESE AND PINEAPPLE SALAD 
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup syrup from pineapple
1 can (16 ounces) crushed pineapple
2 envelopes gelatin
1 1/2 cup cold water
2 cups grated American or longhorn cheese
2 cups heavy cream, whipped

Dissolve sugar in pineapple syrup over low heat; remove. Mix gelatin in cold water and add to syrup. Chill until partially set; add 2 cups crushed pineapple and cheese; fold in whipped cream. Chill until firm.
