CLAM CHOWDER MANHATTAN STYLE 
6 c. chicken broth
2 c. diced celery
2 c. diced onion
2 c. diced carrots
4 c. diced potatoes
2 cans plum tomatoes cut up
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. thyme
4 to 5 cans minced clams

Saute carrots, celery and onions in 1 to 2 tablespoons of butter. Add to broth along with tomatoes and spices. Add clam broth and potatoes. Simmer for 40 minutes. Add clams, simmer for 10 more minutes.
