POUND CAKE (GRANDMOTHER'S) 
2 c. pastry flour, sifted
2 c. granulated sugar (scant)
1 c. butter
4 eggs
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. grated citron

Cream butter, slowly add sugar and mix thoroughly. Then add whole egg, one at a time, stirring constantly. Sift together flour, cream of tartar and salt. Add to first mixture, beat well. Add vanilla. Bake in well buttered paper lined greased loaf tins about 1 hour in 325 degree oven. Use wire cake tester.
