DIVINITY CANDY 
2 1/3 c. sugar
2/3 c. white syrup
1/2 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 pinch salt
1 c. chopped nuts
2 egg whites

Put sugar, syrup, water and salt in saucepan. Cook stirring until sugar is dissolved. Remain cooking until it reaches hard ball stage. Remove from heat, slowly pour syrup over stiffly beaten egg whites. Beat until candy can be dropped to form shapes. Add vanilla and nuts. Drop candy on waxed paper.
