ROLLED SUGAR COOKIES 
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
6 tbsp. butter
1/3 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Stir together flour, baking powder, add 1/4 teaspoon salt. Cream butter and shortening. Add sugar and beat till fluffy. Add egg, milk, and vanilla; beat well. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Mix well. Cover and chill about 3 hours. Work with 1/2 the dough at a time. On a lightly floured surface roll dough to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake about 8 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 36 to 48. Baking temperature 350-375 degrees.

When cool, frost with powdered sugar frosting or canned frosting.
