SUGAR COOKIES (NO ROLL) 
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. Crisco or butter
1/2 c. vegetable oil
1 egg
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar

Using large bowl, beat together first 5 ingredients. Mix dry ingredients together. Add vanilla to last 5 ingredients and mix all together. Make into balls then roll in sugar.

Press down with the bottom of glass dipped in sugar (do this each time with each cookie). Bake at 350 degrees until edges are brown for about 10 minutes.
