DATE MAYONNAISE CAKE 
1 c. chopped dates
1 c. boiling water
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sugar
1 c. mayonnaise
2 c. flour
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix dates, water and baking soda. Let stand 8 minutes then add the remaining ingredients; mix well. Bake in loaf pan 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Keeps well in refrigerator; freezes well.
