PUMPKIN BREAD 
3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. ground allspice
3 c. granulated sugar
1 c. vegetable oil
4 eggs, lightly beaten
2 c. pumpkin
2/3 c. water
1 1/2 c. chopped pecans

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt, spices, and sugar. Add oil, eggs, pumpkin, and water, beating until well blended. Stir in pecans. Pour batter into two lightly greased 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pans. Bake 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in the center of a loaf comes out clean. Remove from pans and cool on wire racks. Serve with Orange Sauce. Yield: 2 loaves of bread.

ORANGE SAUCE:

Juice of 1 orange
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 c. water
1/2 c. granulated sugar
3 tbsp. cornstarch
Grated rind of 1 orange
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 tsp. butter
