1 1/2 lb. fresh fruit or defrosted frozen fruit 1/4 c. corn syrup Ground cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, lemon peel or orange peel (optional) Place plastic mesh on dehydration rack and cover with plastic wrap, bringing wrap around sides of rack and secure with tape. If very firm fresh fruit, such as apples, are chosen, cook briefly to soften. Puree fruit in blender. Add corn syrup and process until well mixed. Pour puree onto plastic wrap and spread evenly, leaving a 1/2 inch border on all sides. Sprinkle with your choice of flavoring in any combination desired. Place mesh on rack in lower position and dehydrate approximately 4 hours. |
