BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES 
15 to 18 cucumbers (med.) sliced
6 onions
1 red pepper (sliced)
1 green pepper (sliced)
1/3 c. uniodized salt
3 trays ice cubes
3 c. white vinegar
5 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
2 tbsp. mustard seed

Slice cucumbers, onions and peppers; add salt. Put 3 trays of ice on top and let stand for 3 hours. DRAIN WELL.

In another pan, put vinegar, sugar and spices. Mix well; add cucumbers, onions and peppers. When mixture comes to a full boil, remove from heat and fill HOT JARS. Makes about 7 to 8 pints.

Keep jars in hot water while cooking.
