DEEP DARK CHOCOLATE CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 3/4 c. flour
3/4 c. cocoa
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 c. milk
1/2 c. vegetable oil
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. boiling water

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 2 round pans or 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. In large mixer bowl combine dry ingredients. Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla; beat on medium speed 2 minutes. Remove from mixer, stir in boiling water (batter will be thin).

Pour into prepared pan(s). Bake 30-35 minutes for round pans, 35-40 minutes for rectangular pan or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Frost with Fluffy White Frosting.

FLUFFY WHITE FROSTING:

2 egg whites
3/4 c. sugar
1/3 c. light corn syrup
2 tbsp. water
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine first 6 ingredients in the top of double boiler. Cook over rapidly boiling water, beating with mixer until mixture stands in peaks. Remove from heat. Add vanilla; continue beating until thick enough to spread. Frosts 8 or 9 inch layer cake, 15 x 10 x 2 inch or 13 x 9 x 2 inch cake.
