CHRISTMAS COOKIES 
2 c. light brown sugar
2 eggs
4 c. plain flour
1 c. butter
2/3 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. chopped dates
1/2 lb. candied cherries, chopped
1/2 lb. candied pineapple, chopped
1 (7 oz.) pkg. flaked coconut
3 c. chopped pecans

Mix sugar and butter, then add eggs. Dredge chopped fruit with flour. Put soda in buttermilk and mix all together.

Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350°F for 10 to 15 minutes until slightly brown.
