1 c. shortening
1 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. plain m&m candy (3/4 pkg.)

Cream shortening, sugars, eggs, and vanilla thoroughly. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Add dry ingredients gradually to creamed mixture, mix well. Stir in 1/2 cup m&m candies; reserve remaining candies for decorating.

Drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet. Decorate tops of cookies with remaining candies.

Bake at 375°F for 10-12 minutes till golden brown.

Makes 6 dozen 2 1/2-inch cookies.
