FRENCH PIE 
1/2 lb. crushed vanilla wafers
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
2 eggs
1 c. pineapple
1 c. cream, whipped
1 c. nuts
1/2 c. butter
Chopped cherries, optional

Line a baking dish (I use 9 x 12 inch pyrex pan) with a layer of rolled wafers. Cream butter, sugar and beaten eggs. Whip cream. Add drained pineapple, cherries and nuts. After a layer of vanilla wafers, spread butter mixture and then a layer of whipped cream mixture. Cover with remaining vanilla crumbs.
