PICKLED HERRING 
3 lg. herrings
3/4 c. vinegar
3/4 c. water
Sliced onions
3 tbsp. sugar
Whole allspice
2 bay leaves

Combine vinegar, water, sugar, allspice, and bay leaves in saucepan. Bring to boil and let cool. Put in herring and sliced onions. Refrigerate.
