1 c. white sugar
1 c. powdered sugar
1 c. butter, softened
1 c. oil
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
4 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. pecans, finely chopped
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cream of tartar

Beat the first five ingredients very well. Add vanilla, flour, salt, soda and cream of tartar. Add pecans. Chill dough. Roll dough in balls and dip in sugar. Bake at 375 degrees until lightly brown. At Christmas, it is nice to roll these in colored sugar.
