3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
Walnut halves, optional
1 c. butter, soft
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 (6 1/2 oz.) pkg. chocolate mint candy wafers or milk chocolate wafers or kisses

Combine all ingredients except candy wafers and walnuts. Blend well. Drop by scant teaspoons 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. press candy wafer on top of each. Cover with a scant teaspoon of dough. Top each with a walnut half (optional). Smooth edges. Bake at 375 degrees for 9-12 minutes. Makes about 54 cookies.
