GRAPEFRUIT SALAD 
3 c. sweet grapefruit sections
3 tbsp. plain gelatin
12 oz. cream cheese
3/4 c. cold water
1/2 c. salad dressing or mayonnaise
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. boiling water
1 c. sugar

Take seeds and membrane from grapefruit sections (fruit must be sweet).

Soak gelatin in 3/4 cup cold water for 15 minutes. Heat 1 cup boiling water and sugar together until sugar melts and then add the cream cheese. Mash until cream cheese is melted. Add softened gelatin to this mixture. Pour over grapefruit sections. Add salad dressing or mayonnaise and chopped nuts. Mix lightly and pour into large baking dish. Chill. This keeps well for almost two weeks. NOTE: May be tinted lightly for the holidays.
