BEST MEAT LOAF 
3/4 c. dry bread crumbs
1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. peppers
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. sage (if desired)
1/4 tsp. pepper
Chili sauce

Soak crumbs in milk, add remaining ingredients, except chili sauce. Mix well. Pack into 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch loaf pan to shape. Invert on shallow baking pan. Score loaf diagonally with handle of wooden spoon. Bake in moderate oven 350 degrees 1 hour; fill score marks on top with chili sauce. Bake 15 minutes longer. This will make 6 to 8 servings.
