BAVARIAN TORTE 
1/2 c. butter
1/3 c. sugar

Cream above well.

1/4 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. flour
2/3 c. nuts (optional)

(All above ingredients are for double recipe). Press in bottom of 9 x 13 inch cake pan. Bake 10-15 minutes at 350 degrees.

FILLING:

Beat until smooth:

1 (8 oz.) cream cheese

Add:

1 egg
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Pour mixture over crust.

TOPPING:

1 lg. can pears, drained and cut into wedges

Place on filling. Sprinkle with:

1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. sugar

Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes. Refrigerate.
