TAMALE PIE 
1 lg. onion, chopped
2 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. chili powder
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 can tomato soup
1 can whole kernel corn, drained
Salt and pepper to taste
Chopped ripe olives (optional)
Chopped green pepper (optional)
1 tsp. oregano (optional)
1/2 c. flour
3/4 c. cornmeal
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 egg, beaten
1 c. buttermilk
2 tbsp. salad oil
Paprika

Cook onion in butter with chili powder until soft. Add beef; cook until lightly browned and crumbly. Stir in soup, corn, salt. Pour meat mixture in casserole. Mix together flour, cornmeal, baking powder, baking soda and egg. Mix liquids, add to dry ingredients. Pour over meat mixture. Sprinkle with paprika. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.
